So just what is a musing?

I've been asked quite a bit about the name Breeze Hill Art and Musings. Just what is a musing anyway? Oxford Dictionaries and Oxford University Press defines as a period of reflection or thought. Perhaps it's simply a more playful way to say blog, article or writing - much too serious for the lite heart I feel. I'd even prefer to use the pronunciation 'myooziNG as it brings a slight smile to face at the end of this day.

I'll be posting about my artwork, my process and any inspirations that fuel my creative force.

I hope something here will spark your own 'myooziNGs. Perhaps you'll share too....

Contemporary Realism Exhibition

Next time in San Diego North County, stop by the Escondido Municipal Gallery and check out the new Contemporary Realism exhibit running May 13 through June 4, 2016. Featured in the juried exhibition are "art works by of over 30 San Diego regional artists emphasizing realistic subjects, recognizable or not, done in a contemporary way or maybe with contemporary materials. New works that give reality a new look."

First place winner Cathy Carey's “Somebody New to Love” featured is worth the visit. And you can also see Up in the trees", my digital composite.

Little man, Big Waves

Went to see the big waves forecast one day and was captivated by this little boy standing all alone bracing himself as he challenged the waves rushing in to knock him down. They never did.
